We start this morning with our PUMA ad which has many responses by PUMAbots… go challenge their rhetoric.
Good morning Democrats. I want to say Thank You! This website is 8 days old now and we’ve accomplished A LOT. Many of us have sent Murphy our Email, “Answers Please.” And many of us should continue to send it her way!
We have already been mentioned on Politico, No Quarter (as you can imagine that was horrible), Democracy.org, Taylor Marsh’s “Hot read”, Democracy.org, PAdems, I am sure we are forgetting someone else, and a slew of PUMA blogs chastising us, as expected. Now we’ve even got a myspace group dedicated to our cause, started by a wonderful Democrat!
We’re doing awesome.
This is an Open thread because today I’ve got some stuff going on! Tonight I will have something special for you all by a REAL Hillary supporter. And I want to hear from OTHER Hillary supporters.
Question: Is anyone going to Denver?

July 7, 2008 at 1:43 pm
I want to go, but I cannot find any information on it… Do you even know where it’s being taken place?

Jessi- I, too, am trying to find some information regarding just where its taking place in Denver. There were talks of a stadium and that would be AWESOME!

Speak of Denver!

August 25th-28th at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. You will have, at best, a slight chance of getting a hotel room anywhere within 25 miles of the convention, and it will come at a premium. Don’t expect much in the way of open campgrounds, either. If you have a friend or relative who lives in the area, it’s probably your best shot.
There is talk that Obama will make his acceptance speech at Invesco (Broncos) Stadium, which holds 75,000. Keep in mind that there were just as many at a rally in Portland, Oregon, so getting in will be a major challenge.
If you really want to help the campaign, your best bet is to log onto barackobama.com, locate other supporters in your area, and help register voters for November.
And in your spare time, have fun laughing at the big tough Pumas.

Jeff- I have been looking all morning, it seems every hotel is booked!
July 7, 2008 at 2:41 pm
How it works is that the DNC has blocked off every hotel room in the city for delegates, officials dignitaries, the media, etc., so all reservations have to go through them.
There is the outside chance some rooms may be released a week or two before the actual convention, but they will be few and far between, and will go for the rack rate, if not more.
I will speculate that the Obama campaign will discourage supporters from trying to converge on Denver unless they are in an official capacity. It does neither Obama nor the party any good if the media is reporting on verbal confrontations between Obama and Clinton supporters outside the convention.
It would be much better if all we see are clips of a bunch of tired, fat, middle-aged pumas yelling and screaming outside to no avail…it will be Harriet Christianson redux.

Jeff- I will be on my best behavior if I get to volunteer during the convention lol. I wouldn’t give PUMA the gratification of having someone to scream at. I will probably make some flyers though.
I am looking forward to seeing the face of PUMA, just to see if it is what I picture in my mind lol, which happens to be EXACTLY what you describe!
I signed up at the Denver convention site. Now I am just crossing my fingers, the Obama headquarters was really helpful with me this morning in making sure I signed up everywhere.

@Jeff- I will be there- right across from the Harriet crew- holding my sign that Christina has inspired me to create…. PUMA doesn’t care about the 30,000+ injured and dead soldiers in Iraq!!!!
@Christina- you can drive and sleep in your car. I am planning on camping out- I did so in 04

I was thinking about going but I think I’m with Jeff on this one, it would be more fun to see clips (if they even have any) of the crowd of cats trying to be heard over what will more than likely be 100,000 people.
If someone does go please do take a picture of the cats, I don’t think you’ll need a wild angle lens.
BTW Christina YOU GO GIRL!!! (had to go 90s)
